Users may be experiencing intermittent difficulties with HPS (High Performance Systems) including Big Red II, Karst, Karst Desktop, Mason, Research Database Complex (RDC), and Carbonate. Administrators are working with the vendors and IU network engineers to restore service. A recent update has addressed the source of the initial disruption and engineers are closely monitoring the situation. The next update is estimated to be available by Monday, September 18th.
This issue may affect users logging into HPS and those mounting home directories via SMB (Samba). HPS home directories and SMB (Samba) clients on Geode are affected.
