At Indiana University, Karst Desktop is a remote desktop service for users with accounts on the Karst research supercomputer.
Users may be experiencing intermittent difficulties with HPS (High Performance Systems) including Big Red II, Karst, Karst Desktop, Mason, Research Database Complex (RDC), and Carbonate. Administrators are working with the vendors and IU network engineers to restore service. Recent updates have again improved overall network and Geode stability. The next update is estimated to be available by Monday, September 25.
This issue may affect users logging into HPS and those mounting home directories via SMB (Samba). HPS home directories and SMB (Samba) clients on Geode are affected.
